Happy Sundays, the series of free events organized by Julia Kugel (of the Coathangers) and Scott Montoya (ex-Growlers), are coming back to Long Beach this summer.

Prettiest Eyes, Tropa Magica, Sunny War, White Woods, Billy Changer, Neil Hamburger, Nick Thune, Triptides and the Start are among the artists performing at the multi-venue Happy Sundays fest on Aug. 25 in the Zaferia District in Long Beach. The shows, which feature more than 30 artists in all, will take place at Alex’s Bar, Analog Records, Ashtanga Yoga, Bamboo Club, DiPiazza’s, Iguana Kelley’s, the Long Beach Playhouse and Red Leprechaun (see map). There is one more headliner for the Aug. 25 festival to be announced.

First up, though, is tomorrow’s Happy Sundays one-day event featuring Nectarines, Winter and King Flamingo, performing on an open-air stage at 4th and Cherry streets.

It’s the fourth year Happy Sundays has staged shows in LBC.
