► The Psychedelic Furs and James wind up their North American co-headlining tour at the Greek Theatre. L.A. quartet Dear Boy kicks off the night.
► “The Blues Is Alive and Well” — it’s the title of the latest album of Buddy Guy and likely a prediction of how things will go tonight at the Hollywood Bowl, where Guy headlines and is joined by Jimmie Vaughan and Charlie Musselwhite.
► Mermaed rocks the Satellite, supported by Go Betty Go, Shiragirl and Bodacious Thang.
► Pop singer Paige Duddy, aka XYLØ, headlines the Roxy in support of her latest EP, “Yes & No.” Jane Holiday and ZOLITA open.
► Manchester duo Virginia Wing visit the Echo, supported by Moon King and Paige Emery.
► Cuffed Up [see “Mother/Father” and “Small Town Kid”] rock the Bootleg Theater, joined by Goon (solo set) and DMTV.
► And Dallas composer Donovan Jones — aka Black Taffy — brings the music from his latest album “Elder Mantis” to the Hi Hat, where Maiah Manser, Grayson and Iman support.
