► It’s Day 1 of the ninth annual Echo Park Rising (see full and updated set times). Among the highlights tonight: Goon, Healing Gems, the Shakes, Skin Mag, XL Middleton, New Evil, Doctrin, Bone Acre, Broken Baby, Bird Concerns, the Birth Defects, Derde Verde, Pink Skies, Billy Changer and Lauren Early.
► DeVotchKa headlines the Roxy in support of their new album, “This Night Falls Forever,” with Trapdoor Social supporting.
► Austin’s Summer Salt, who just released the new EP “Honeyweed,” visit the Fonda Theatre, with Dante Elephante and Motel Radio opening.
► Making their West Coast debut, Toronto flamenco and world music six-piece Tamar Ilana & Ventanas celebrate the release of their new album “MISTRĀL” at tonight’s edition of the free Sunset Concerts series at the Skirball.
► Steve Earle & the Dukes do a second sold-out night at the Troubadour, with the Mastersons supporting.
