Lila Rose wants to hook you up. The pop singer-songwriter/producer who goes by the name ANIIML last week released an interactive video for her new single “Handle Me,” a song that confesses, “The truth is I want someone who can handle me.”
The video, directed by the artist and Misty Fair, stars 16 single people. It’s interactive because it invites viewers to contact anybody in the video, by comment or by email (see the explainer). “I started to notice that most of my friends are incredibly gorgeous, talented, successful, kind, loving … I mean … they’re amazing,” she explains. “And they are all …. single. Why has it become so hard for us to find someone who can handle us? The fantastic, the wonderful and the difficult parts of us?”
Solving that deep mystery aside, ANIIML is taking some action on behalf of those uncoupled friends. The release party for the song on Sunday night will be a singles party, starring the video stars and anybody else who’s up for some fun in what organizers (including the dating app KINDRA) promise will be an “entertaining social environment.”
