L.A. concerts for Wednesday:

► Avril Lavigne brings her Head Above Water Tour to the Greek Theatre. It’s her first tour in five years, and Jagwar Twin opens the night.
► Methyl Ethel headlines tonight’s installment of the Twilight on the Pier free concert series in Santa Monica. Also performing are Lila Gold and Lisa Richards.
► Dub Club takes over the Echo and Echoplex for a two-room party, Dub Club Meets the Bluebeat Lounge. On hand for the night are Boss Harmony, Chris Murray Combo, the Steady 45’s and Thee Scufflers and more.
► Canadian indie-rockers Said the Whale visit the Satellite in support of their latest album “Cascadia,” with Van El and Runnner (Noah Weinman solo set) supporting.
► With their full-length debut coming in October, Communicant does a show at the Hotel Café. Also in the venue’s main room for the night: Mae Deline, Ivo Dimchev and Matthew Chaim.
► Singer-songwriter Jackson Guthy headlines the Moroccan Lounge, with Cody Luvaas.
► And KidEyes head up the lineup at a free show at the Hi Hat on the second night of a three-Wednesday residency. Karmic, Pink Skies and Romance & Rebellion join in the fun.
