With their latest album “How Do You Love?” releasing back on Aug. 9, the Regrettes took their new tunes on the road and made the second stop on their North American tour a hometown show Friday at the Fonda Theatre.
Lydia Night, just short of her 19th birthday, led the energetic show, backed by Genessa Gariano on guitar, Brooke Dickson on bass, Drew Thomsen on drums and a sold-out crowd doing back-up vocals. Throughout each punky garage-pop song the crowd bounced along with Night’s every move, clearly eager to dance away the Friday evening with one of their favorite local acts.
Another SoCal band, Greer of Costa Mesa, opened up the show and was greeted with just as much love as that the crowd gave the Regrettes. Having only been a band since late 2018, the reception was a surprise, but well-deserved. Greer is joining the Regrettes for the entirety of their tour, which comes back to the L.A. area with for a show Oct. 19 at the Glass House.

Sorry, this band is the biggest bunch of posers on the scene. Check out legit female lead punk bands like Starcrawler and Skating Polly. Regrettes are the rock camp, corporate version of a punk scene that actually exists in the underground.
