Black hearts are skipping a beat with the news that the Prince of Darkness, Nick Cave, will be releasing a new album across digital platforms on Oct. 4. “Ghosteen” will be streamed in its entirety on YouTube starting at 2 p.m. Pacific time on Oct. 3. The physical release hits Nov. 4.
The album was recorded in 2018 and early 2019 at the Woodshed in Malibu, Nightbird Studios in Los Angeles, Retreat in Brighton and Candybomber in Berlin. The double-album is split in two parts, the first being the “children,” the second being the “parents,” with “‘Ghosteen’ being the spirit migrating between the two entities,” the press release says.
“Ghosteen” is the 17th studio album from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, following 2016’s critically acclaimed “Skeleton Tree.”
