L.A. alt-rockers Love Nothing aren’t exactly a party band, but they sure can pick ’em. The rager in director Ted Ringeisen’s video for the new single “American Spirit” looks like the most interesting party in the world, even if frontman Nicholas Waite is not exactly the life of it.
“American Spirit” is the title track of a forthcoming four-song EP from the band of Waite, Cindy Sukrattanawong and Eric Peters, which expanded to a five-piece for their recent Satellite residency. The EP was produced by Tom Biller (Sean Lennon, Warpaint, Liars, Silversun Pickups and Kate Nash, among others).
The tune is drenched in ennui, as if you’ve awakened with a monster hangover after attending a party at which you were the center of attention — and the target of abuse.
