Coming off a solo show at the Theater at the Ace Hotel the night prior, Dallas Green/City and Colour eased into a lengthy set at a sold-out Fonda Theatre Thursday night, this time with a full band to back him up. When Green’s emotional lyrics were not being brought to life by the band behind him, Green took the stage solo— just a man and guitar, spilling his thoughts out into the loving crowd with his soft, soothing vocals.
Ruby Waters, another Canadian singer-songwriter, opened up the show with her own mix of R&B, folk and soul. This was her first time in Los Angeles.
Set list: Astronaut, Strangers, Fragile Bird, If I Should Go Before You, Northern Blues, Young Lovers, Runaway, Sensible Heart, Little Hell (acoustic), Northern Wind, Mountain of Madness, Lover Come Back, Difficult Love, Waiting…, As Much As I Ever Could. Encore: Body in a Box, The Girl, Living Lightning, We Found Each Other in the Dark, Sleeping Sickness.
