Son Little — aka L.A. native Aaron Livingston — will release his third album, “Aloha,” on Jan. 31 via Anti- Records.
With the news comes the new single “Suffer,” a melancholy song whose chorus seems a welcome echo from the early days of soul and one of those songs that sounds like it should have been a classic for the last 50 years. The tune mourns the suicide of his uncle — in fact, the artist explains that the power of our own self-destructive tendencies is a recurring theme on the album.
The album, made at Paris’s Studios Ferber with producer Renaud Letang (Feist, Manu Chao), marks the first time Little has worked with an outside producer. It follows 2017’s “New Magic” and his 2015 self-titled debut, and it includes the single “New Rose” from his “Invisible” EP released earlier this year.
