Aria Pullman-Ostrander was one-half of the dream-pop duo Some Go Haunting, who released their full-length “Wandering Souls” in 2016. Now she’s continuing to follow her muse under the solo moniker AO.
AO’s new single “Fall on Me” is a warm-hearted folk song — one of those tunes whose plaintive beauty seems to lighten the weight of the world. The song is a duet with her husband, Joshua Ostrander (aka Mondo Cozmo) and has its origins in Joshua Tree, during the time the Mondo Cozmo album “Plastic Soul” was being finished.
“It’s funny how that happens sometimes,” AO says. “Beautiful symmetry, and the stars align. We tried to give it a very vintage feel by recording it live.”
AO introduces the DIY video for the song, the first from a forthcoming EP, by writing: “With everything that’s going on in the world today, instead of doing a traditional music video, I wanted to do something that feels good. These images make me feel good.” So if you enjoy giving and receiving hugs — from people or from furry friends — this is about as warm-and-fuzzy as it gets. Pardon us while we break to make nice with our puppy.
