Friday night’s packed show at the Echo, co-headlined by Holy Wars and Draemings — proved as much a celebration of the L.A. indie scene as it was a concert.

Fellow musicians turned out by the dozens to bang heads to Draemings’ neon goth-rock and Holy Wars’ cathartic pop-metal. Many no doubt were familiar with the songs. With Kimi Recor in high gear vocally, Draemings bookended their set with their two most recent singles, “The Golden Age” and “Stranger Than Believing,” also including a couple of new songs from an album they have in the works. Holy Wars teased new material, too, with the dynamic Kat Leon at full throttle while performing recent singles “Welcome to My Hell” and “Legend” along with material dating back to 2017’s “Mother/Father” EP. Oh, and the crowd sang “Happy Birthday” to guitarist Nicolas Perez.

Resurgent art-pop band Figs Vision kicked off the night (with dancers) and then gave way to shoegaze/psych-rock trio El Mañana.
