There’s a new festival coming to the Coachella Valley next month.
The inaugural 4xFAR will feature musical artists such as Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Mark Ronson & Q-Tip, Young the Giant, Kurt Vile & the Violators, Sofi Tukker, Maya Jane Coles, Tijuana Panthers, Mahalia, LP Giobbi and Chappaqua Wrestling, along with a host of lifestyle offerings.
The event, Jan. 18-19, takes place at the Coachella Grand Oasis in Thermal, located about seven miles southeast of Empire Polo Club, site of that other Coachella festival.
The two-day affair caters to outdoorsy and active-sports types. There will be workshops including fly-fishing, wilderness survival and outdoor photography; mountain biking, slacklining, climbing, bouldering and yoga; appearances by pro volleyball player Gabrielle Reece and her husband, big wave surfer Laird Hamilton; and even test drives of a new off-road vehicle.
Two-day GA passes are currently $185 (VIP $349) and available here.
Another new music festival announced today is the Virgin Fest, which will be at the Banc of California Stadium & Exposition Park on June 6 and June 7, 2020. It is the same company that owns the KAABOO Festival in San Diego, California.
