Video: The Tissues, ‘Rear Window’

The Tissues

Art-rock quartet the Tissues are rebels who make a racket, their take-no-prisoners music inspired by post-punk and and proto-punk torchbearers from decades ago. They rage against all manners of oppression, and if battles were fought merely with wailing vocals and stinging guitar licks, the oppressors wouldn’t stand a chance.

The band — vocalist Kristine Nevrose, guitarist Jerry Narrows, bassist Bianca Ayala and drummer Tara Edwards — have been working on the follow-up to their 2017 debut album “Veil.”

Led by Nevrose’s desperate cries and Narrows’ deliciously angular guitar, “Rear Window” is the first single from that album, titled “Blue Film” and coming out Jan. 9.

Yes, the song shares a title with the 1954 Hitchcock movie, and any fan of that thriller will want to have a look at the Tissues’ new video for the song, which was co-directed by Tara Edwards and Bianca Ayala. It gets tense, and it gets messy. Smile for the camera.
