► New year, new month, new residencies: WASI kicks off their residency (at the free Satellite Nights series) at the Satellite (with Punk Crush, Shiragirl and Sugar Rum Tantrum opening); Kate Clover is at the Bootleg (with Nice, Jordan Jones and Vaguess supporting); and resurgent Figs Vision holds down the Echo (with Cassowary, Gods Wisdom and the Crudes on board).
► Pomona quartet the No. 44, who have a new album coming out late this month, do a free night at Harvard & Stone, joined by Lucid Lynx and Tunnels.
► And 19-year-old Parisian Sacha Rudy plays a free show at Zebulon, joined by Lewis Ofman.
