Nada Surf’s latest single is titled “So Much Love,” and nearly a quarter century into their run as one of the most beloved power-pop bands on the planet, it was a fitting addition to their set Sunday night at the first of two shows at the Troubadour.
Fans had packed the venue wall-to-wall by the time Nada Surf took the stage, rolling into 2012’s “Looking Through.” Over the course of their 21-song set, the band traced their history, from their 1996 debut “High/Low” all the way through the new single, off their forthcoming ninth album, “Never Not Together,” which comes out Feb. 7. As the dreamy guitar riffs and soaring vocal melodies wafted throughout the Troubadour, the band made readily apparent their musical mastery. Each song was so tight that you could swear you were still listening to them in your bedroom.
Apex Manor set the stage for an incredible night. Supporting their 2019 LP “Heartbreak City,” the band boasted some delicious melodies and studied songwriting.
