Redd Kross, Veruca Salt, That Dog. to play Kim Shattuck celebration show

Redd Kross, Veruca Salt and That Dog. will join Vicki Peterson, Kathy Valentine, the Coolies, the Pandoras, Kay Hanley, Rob Zabrecky, Ronnie Barnett and Roy Mcdonald to play the benefit show: Celebrate the Life of Kim Shattuck: Create a World Without ALS on March 15 at the El Rey Theatre.

Shattuck, who fronted seminal pop-punk bands the Pandoras and the Muffs and played in many other bands, including the Pixies, fought Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease) for two years before she died last October. She also recently released music with the side project the Coolies.

The show goes on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. All proceeds will go to the ALS Association Golden West Chapter in Kim’s memory.
