L.A. duo Wajatta — John Tejada and Reggie Watts — will headline this year’s opener of the popular series First Fridays at the Natural History Museum.

The series kicks off March 6 and continues April 3, May 1 and June 5. This year’s theme is “The Future Is Now,” with the museum featuring special events along with late hours for the galleries, a DJ lounge and assorted libations. Patt Morrison of the Los Angeles Times will moderate a discussion with Drs. Alexa Tomor and Roey Tzezana on the first month’s topic, on the future of medicine.

L.A. no-wave band French Vanilla will precede Wajatta, with whistling wunderkind Molly Lewis, aka Café Molly, opening the night. The DJ Lounge will feature sets from Josh Peace and resident Novena Carmel.

Tickets are $20 for non-members and on sale now.
