Amoeba Music records (and much more) store has announced it will move to its new location, 6200 Hollywood Blvd., this fall, next to the Fonda Theatre on the ground floor of the new “El Centro” retail/residential building on the corner of Hollywood and Argyle Avenue, along the Walk of Fame.

In an announcement on their website, the opening date of the new location is anticipated soon after Labor Day this year. The new space, a couple blocks north from its current space on 6400 Sunset Blvd., will also have an area for live performances, signings and DJ events as well as the mirror the current sell/trade counter at the front of the store. The building is across the street from the Hollywood/Vine Metro Red Line station and validated parking for the first 75 minutes (with purchase) will also be available in an onsite garage. Metered parking is also available around the building.

“We have been blown away by the massive outpouring of support from our customers and the L.A. community throughout our search for a new home and are excited for the next chapter in the Amoeba story,” said Jim Henderson, co-owner of Amoeba Music. “It has been a long search, but we’re pleased to announce we found the right new home and are able to stay in the music and movie-loving heart of Hollywood.”
