Tickets go on sale Friday for the inaugural Lovers & Friends Festival, a one-day gathering of hip-hop and R&B artists that will bring the likes of Ms. Lauryn Hill, Usher, Ludacris, Lil Jon, TLC, Jhené Aiko, Summer Walker, Megan Thee Stallion and more to Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson.
The event, which goes off May 9, is the latest boutique-type festival from concert promotions giant Goldenvoice, which last week announced the one-day Cruel World Festival featuring a slew of alternative acts. The May 2 event, also at Dignity, sold out quickly.
Lovers & Friends spawned some online chatter upon its announcement because of apparent scheduling conflicts for a couple of the artists, with at least one other, Lil Kim, calling the lineup a fake. Snoop Dogg addressed things in an Instagram post last night.
Tickets start at $145 ($230 for VIP and $450 for Super VIP). Pre-sale requires registration and begins at 10 a.m. Thursday; general on-sale is 10 a.m. Friday.
