Severin Browne, Eva B. Ross, Quinn DeVeaux, Will Fox, Sharon Silva (of the Wild Reeds) and more will perform Saturday, March 7, at the first Highland Park Folk Festival, founded by L.A. musician Ryan Pollie.
The new event figures to be a chill Saturday in the park; it’s being staged at La Tierra de la Culebra Park (240 S. Ave. 57) and will feature comedy and an outdoor flea market with food, coffee, vendors, artists and pinball (!) in addition to the music. It’s free and all-ages (a donation is suggested). The festival kicks off at noon.
It’s the brainchild of Pollie, who released a solo album last year via Anti- Records after releasing two under the moniker Los Angeles Police Department.
