► Rhode Island-based singer-songwriter (and Ph.D. candidate) Samuel Proffitt, who’s working on new music to follow up last year’s “Good Death” EP, does his first L.A. headlining show at the Moroccan Lounge, with some special guests in store.
► Resurgent Bay Area space-rock band Duster, who last year released their first album in 19 years, headlines a special edition of Part Time Punks at the Regent Theater, with Froth and KPT supporting.
► Eleni Mandell plays the Bootleg Theater, joined by Zander Schloss, Supermoon and Tony Gilkyson.
► Hot Snakes rocks Alex’s Bar in Long Beach — get there early for Kills Birds.
► And Chicago duo Drama do their second show in as many nights, this one at the Echo with Ric Wilson supporting.
