L.A. trio Echosmith’s sophomore album “Lonely Generation” might be a collection of coming-of-age songs, but the sibling trio’s hometown show Thursday night was all about the kids.
There were balloons, confetti and big smiles as the band — Sydney Quiseng (née Sierota), Graham Sierota and Noah Sierota, along with touring guitarist Josh Murty — bounded through a set split between their new album, released in January, and 2013’s “Talking Dreams.” Between their catchy pop songs and fun banter, Echosmith was showered with adulation.
Also included was a cover of Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now.” The siblings’ father and co-songwriter Jeffery David joined the band to play piano on “Everyone Cries.” They saved the new album’s title track for the encore before finishing with their big first single “Cool Kids.”
Setlist: Love You Better, Diamonds, Over My Head, Cracked, Lost Somebody, Bright, Everyone Cries, Follow You/Come Together/Tell Her You Love Her, Scared to Be Alone, Last Forever, Talking Dreams, Don’t Start Now (Dua Lipa cover), Stuck. Encore: Lonely Generation, Cool Kids
