“Spoon around every curve of my body / press your face in the curve of my neck,” Cecilia Enriquez coos in the new Saint Cecilia single “Spoon,” the Pasadena trio’s first new music since 2016.
It’s a song for canoodling in a time there’s not a lot to do except canoodle. “A summer love song for the end of the world,” Enriquez calls the tune, the first of several singles the band plans to release this year.
Like the music on the group’s debut album “Entrance,” “Spoon” is draped in lush ’60s harmonies that exude a more innocent time. With Enriquez joined by bassist keyboardist Audrey Strange and bassist Lindsay Bond, the band made the track with co-producer Joey Welcher, who drums on the song, and engineer Neal Harris.
