Talk about “alone together” — Burger Records tonight will release the mother of all compilations.

Burger’s “Quarantunes: Songs From Self-Isolation” features eight volumes (originally, it was seven, then the label tacked on an addendum) of singles from more than 150 artists. All of the songs were written and recorded over the past three weeks as the COVID-19 crisis paralyzed the live music industry.

Burger says that all proceeds from sales of individual tracks ($2 apiece) and the $20 volumes will go directly to the artists. That label adds that it is absorbing the fees for posting and selling the music.

L.A. artists, of course, are well-represented across these volumes. Included are Joel Jerome, the Blank Tapes, HOTT MT, Luther Russell, Reckling, Bart & the Bedazzled, Streetwalkin’ Cheetahs, Cheap Tissue and a bunch more.

The sale goes live at 6 tonight in Bandcamp.

To celebrate, the label’s co-founder, Sean Bohrman, is doing a seven-hour live feed starting at 6 on Facebook and YouTube.
