Chilling, reading, writing, gaming, practicing, watching, building — that’s been the Year of Greer so far. On the heels of releasing “Aeroplane,” their new single for Epitaph, the quartet touches base with Buzz Bands LA for QUARANTUNES, itching to get on the road and sharing their quarantine playlist.

THE LATEST FROM GREER

Early this year, L.A. quartet Greer signed to Epitaph Records and went to work with producer Rob Schnapf on new music. In late May, they swooped in with the tender single “Aeroplane,” which has the classic, poised feel of a band far beyond Greer’s years. And this week they released the new single “Bye Bye Baby,” announcing that their five-song EP, “Lullaby for You,” will be out July 17.

It’s a taste of what is to come from what many consider one of L.A.’s top young emerging acts. While waiting for their tour to resume (they have their fingers crossed for late this year, and two dates in March 2021 at the Troubadour are already sold out), they’ve been connecting with fans via their GreerCast podcasts and donating proceeds from their merch to charitable causes.

HOW ARE YOU HOLDING UP AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MANAGE THE ‘STAY AT HOME’ EDICT?

Greer: We’ve been straight chilling, reading, writing, gaming, practicing, watching TV and even building pedals and guitars!

WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO WHEN THIS IS OVER?

Greer: We are most looking forward to our tour across the U.S. and making and releasing new music! Monster family reunion.

ANYTHING WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS PLAYLIST?

Greer: This playlist is a collection of our favorite songs we’ve listened to over the past two months. And I can assure you, it is extremely exhilarating.
