THEY.

Ever since they blasted off five years ago, L.A. duo THEY. — singer Andrew Neely (aka Drew Love) and producer Dante Jones — have been obliterating the lines between rock, rap and R&B. Launched by Mind of a Genius Records and propelled by the big ZHU/Skrillex collaboration “Working for It” in 2015, the duo have now matriculated to Avant Garden/island Records.

Last week, THEY. released the first single from their forthcoming album “The Amanda Tape.” Flowing on simple acoustic guitar chord progression and sleek production, “Count Me In” is a dewy-eyed testimony that you’ll be there for someone.

The track’s release was delayed a couple of weeks because of current events. “Believe me, the last thing I want to do is let y’all down,” Jones wrote on Instagram, “but never before have I witnessed what is taking place and I think it’s more important to keep the focus on the moment that this country (and the whole world) is having right now. We don’t want to distract from what really matters — this Black Lives Matter moment and bringing awareness to the issues afflicting our communities.”
