In lieu of all those teen caper-comedy flicks we missed at movie houses this summer, there’s Wallows’ video for their new, Ariel Rechtshaid-produced single “Nobody Gets Me (Like You).” It’s the sequel to the video for their March single “OK,” which found the L.A. power-pop trio of Dylan Minnette, Braeden Lemasters and Cole Preston goofing off at the drive-thru in anticipation of a big party that night.

They arrive at the party in “Nobody Gets Me (Like You),” which, like its predecessor, was directed by Dillon Dowdell. Madcap things ensue (including a performance by the band going by the name “Wallets”). Curly fries (foreshadowed in Episode 1) seem to hold special significance. And at the end, there’s a spacey cliffhanger.

With the new video, Wallows have announced the Oct. 23 arrival of a new EP, “Remote,” which was made during quarantine. Its six tracks were produced by Sachi DiSerafino, John DeBold and Wallows (except for “Nobody Gets Me (Like You).”

The band has two shows remaining in their online “world tour” dates, being streamed from the Roxy: Sept. 13 and Sept. 27. Get tickets and info here.
