Ears Wide Open: Secret Stare

Secret Stare aren’t the first band to worship at the throne of Black Sabbath and they won’t be the last. The new L.A. rockers’ cinematic gloom and doom comes with an air of mystery, courtesy of the surreal costumes fashioned by band co-founder Erin Emslie (Hunx and His Punx, The Time Fly’s), who is also a visual artist and designer.
For the musical vision, Emslie teamed up with Will Rockwell-Scott (who was drummer for NYC garage rockers the Mooney Suzuki and also played with Wolfmother). Today, the band released its self-titled debut album, along with the video for “Streets of Fire.” It puts them in the orbit of other local artists such as L.A. Witch, or maybe Black Sabbitch, only with original songs.
Dress accordingly.
