Sister duo Chaos Chaos — Asya and Chloe Saavedra, who in a past life were known as Smoosh — are back with the woozy, wobbly banger “Need You,” which covers feelings of longing, distance and detachment, all things magnified by the pandemic.
Speaking of the pandemic, the video for the Zhone-produced song features its guest vocalist, Madge. “We were bored quarantining like everyone else and bought greenscreens also like everyone else and made this clowny video,” Chloe Saavedra says. “We all love clown aesthetics, so we felt it was fitting to play that up a little and just make a goofy video. It is so funny how this new total virtual world works because both Asy and I assumed Madge lived on the East Coast, and Madge assumed we lived on the East Coast, and only later on did we realize we all live in L.A. I guess that can happen when you only can work with people virtually!”
“Need You” is officially out on Friday.
Chaos Chaos is one of the artists performing starting at 4 p.m. today on the streaming event “Support Black Womxn,” proceeds from which benefit the Loveland Foundation. Reggie Watts, Fred Armisen, Cautious Clay, Gavin Turek, MILCK and Bunny Michael are among the many artists performing.
