It looks like Elohim caught the funk bug that’s been infecting much of pop music. Her newest self-written and-produced single “Good Day Bad Day” grooves through musings about the optimism in a promised tomorrow. “Today’s a good day / Tomorrow’s a new day / If today’s a bad day / tomorrow’s a new day,” she affirms in the chorus.

“Good Day Bad Day” confirms a new Elohim album is coming. She tested out the song on her “Group Therapy” Tour, which launched in February after the release of her first single of 2020 but was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“To be honest, it seems like the good days have been too few and far between lately,” she says. “But deep in my heart I know a good day is there running beside us in a parallel universe, and I wrote this song to help remind me that nothing is permanent and anything can happen.”

Through music and social media, Elohim has been vocal about the importance of mental health by publicizing her own journey. It’s a departure from her secret-identity days when she used text-to-speech software for interviews and performed in darkness. “Good Day Bad Day” continues her tradition of lyrical honesty.

Like her previous single “I’m Lost,” “Good Day Bad Day” tackles mental health. However, this go around, Elohim gives the monotony that comes with incessantly relying on a better tomorrow a hypnotic shimmer. Her mellow delivery about the “war inside [her] brain” will in fact help you dance your blues away.
