■ Ahead of John Lennon’s 80th Birthday coming up on Friday, BBC2 features a few programs today in tribute. Sean Ono Lennon’s interviews with Elton John, Paul McCartney and Julian Lennon (part 1) aired today and at 7pm a compilation of BBC interviews from the Beatles’ early days to his final one will air. His 1970 interview with Jan Wenner for Rolling Stone magazine has also been made available.
It was so lovely to talk to @seanonolennon about his father for #JohnLennonat80, which airs on @BBCRadio2 this weekend. When I first met John I was in awe, but he was so kind and sweet and generous. As soon as we started talking, it felt like I’d known him my entire life 🚀 pic.twitter.com/XXuqDgE3rR
