Virtual Halloween fest at Queen Mary to feature Silversun Pickups, Filter, Dead Sara and more

She sits in the Port of Long Beach, dark and foreboding, her massive steel hull permanently moored in the still waters of the Pacific inlet. Borne upon the docks of Clydebank, Scotland in 1934, she sailed the Atlantic for more than 30 years, fading in glory as the jet age set upon us. She ferried troops during World War II and operated as a hospital ship, and along the way, she picked up more than just a few ghosts, which is how she acquired he reputation for being the world’s most haunted ship. The grande dame I’m referring to is none other than The RMS Queen Mary, who will be the setting for this weekend’s The Dark Zone Network’s “Queen Mary Live: A Virtual Haunt & Music Fest.”

The folks that brought you Ghost Hunters, Ghost Mine and Mountain Monsters will be presenting four spooky days (Oct. 29-Nov. 1) of ghost hunting and Halloween madness, along with a stellar lineup of musical performers. Scheduled to appear are Silversun Pickups, Filter, Beasto Blanco, Dead Sara, Metalachi and Sound Barrier. Celebrity guests include Kane Hodder (Jason from “Friday the 13th”), Chad Lindberg (“Supernatural”), Calico Cooper (Alice Cooper’s daughter/Beasto Blanco’s lead singer) and Britton Buchanan (“The Voice”).

Renowned resident apparitionist Aiden Sinclair, his partner Becca Knight and The Dark Zone’s Susan Slaughter will be hosting a fully immersive, interactive experience. Viewers will be watching the locked down camera feeds from the safety of their living room couches, looking for shadowy figures, books flying off shelves, wee bits of ectoplasm or even a full-bodied apparition. When they spot them they’ll communicate directly with the Dark Zone hosts and the investigations will commence.

Tickets are $19.99 for the live-streaming event at www.thedarkzone.tv. And whatever you do, if you’re ever on the Queen Mary, never stay in room B-340.
