Rounding up new videos from the Paranoyds, the Neighbourhood and Elvis Perkins for your Friday viewing pleasure …

THE PARANOYDS, “Hotel Celebrity”

After releasing “Pet Cemetery” last month, L.A.’s the Paranoyds are back today with the cheeky single “Hotel Celebrity.” Ambar Navarro directs the video for the song, which Lexi Funston calls “a collagen-infused, loving tribute to Californian vapidity and obnoxia. Becoming, undoing, aging—is it all just a mirage?” Excuse us while we go get some work done …

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD, “Hell or High Water”

“Watched ‘Spongebob’ in the morning, ‘Walk Hard’ in the afternoon and wrote ‘Hell or High Water’ in the evening,” the Neighbourhood’s Jesse Rutherford says of this countryfied ditty from this year’s album “Chip Chrome & the Mono-Tones.” The Daniel Iglesias Jr.-directed video is a not-so-stealthy marketing pitch for the band’s new merch, in case you wanna have a Chrome Christmas. As for the song, where was this on the CMAs?

ELVIS PERKINS, “See Monkey”

The Shwalami design team (Joshua Levy and Greg Wilk) is responsible for the brilliantly absurdist visuals for “See Monkey,” from Elvis Perkins’ fifth album “Creation Myths.” The animated cut-and-paste style will get a big smile from Monty Python fans. “First thing that comes to mind regarding the ‘See Monkey’ video is, somehow, the leitmotif from Robocop: ‘I’d buy that for a dollar,’” Perkins says. “The good Shwalami people have updated the snake oil hock for the present day: ‘All your eyes can eat for no dollars at all.’”
