After succumbing to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Coachella and Stagecoach festivals won’t happen this spring.

The Press-Enterprise reported that Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser on Friday signed an order forcing the postponements. “The first thing to keep in mind is that under the state framework this event couldn’t happen anyway,” he told the paper in an interview. “We’re coming off the worst COVID-19 surge yet during the pandemic.”

There has been no comment from the festival or its promoter, Goldenvoice.

Last year, the festivals were postponed in April and rescheduled in October before being postponed yet again.

Maybe it’s time to watch the documentary again, for old time’s sake?
