Collaboration is the theme of today’s singles roundup — check out new songs from Elohim & GRiZ, Deap Vally and Jenny Lewis & Serengeti.

ELOHIM & GRIZ, “Bring Me Back”

All ready for the Sahara Tent the next time they decide to throw a Coachella, “Bring Me Back” is a big, slippery house track from electronic music warriors GRiZ and Elohim. “I’ve always been a fan of GRiZ and his message, his connection with his audience and his musicianship,” Elohim says. “He is a true artist’s artist and his positivity and authenticity is something that I hold close to my heart. So naturally I had been wanting to do a song with him for a while now. I was going through vocals I had written and this one seemed like the perfect fit, but what he transformed it into was something from outer space.”

DEAP VALLY, “Give Me a Sign”

On the heels of their “Digital Dream” EP, the L.A. duo of Lindsey Troy and Julie Edwards have announced another one: “American Cockroach” will be out June 18, featuring collaborations with bassists Jennie Vee (Eagles Of Death Metal) and Ayşe Hassan (Savages). “Digital Dream” was an all-collaborative affair, as was 2020’s “Deap Lips,” the duo’s dalliance with the Flaming Lips, so Troy and Edwards are stretching out. Here, Deap Valley sounds like they haven’t before, haunting and anguished, curled up in a corner and waiting.

JENNY LEWIS & SERENGETI, “GLTR”

“GLTR” marks the fourth in the socially distanced collaboration between Jenny Lewis and Chicago rapper Serengeti, following “Unblu,” “Vroom Vroom” and “Idiot.” There’s a strange, wonderful episodic feel to these singles, and Serengeti (David Cohn) says this one is “a nice song about getting out of your head and having a time. Getting out a little bit. Getting out of bed and enjoying some things. Maybe putting down the phone for a sec.” The video was shot at Tennessee’s Hendersonville Memory Gardens, where Johnny Cash is buried.
