Stream: KennyHoopla & Travis Barker, ‘Hollywood Sucks’

KennyHoopla cut a huge swathe across 2020 with “How Will I Rest in Peace if I’m Buried by a Highway?” — first, the song and then the EP with that title — and the follow-up, “Estella,” a collaboration with Travis Barker.

The one-man indie-rock wayback machine, born Kenneth La’ron, goes to the pop-punk well again for “Hollywood Sucks,” the first tune from “Survivors Guilt: The Mixtape,” an eight-song project with Barker that releases on June 11.

The mixtape includes “Estella” but is not all pop-punk. Think of it as the 2021 mixtape most likely to have had multiple songs in heavy rotation on KROQ in 2001.

As he did for “Estella,” Lonewolf directs the video.
