L.A. trio Trousdale make bright folk-pop with fetching melodies, harmonies and infectious spirit, not far sonically from what fellow Angelenos the Wild Reeds achieved on their third album.

The band — Quinn D’Andrea, Georgia Greene and Lauren Jones — first got attention last year for a cover of the Beach Boys’ “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” and then their early-2021 single “Wouldn’t Come Back,” the linchpin of their four-song EP, “Look Around,” released in April.

Their new single “This Is It,” which was written and produced by the trio, is more upbeat than the contemplative material on the EP, which has garnered fairly wide acclaim. And director Nina Kramer’s video for the song is pure summer fun.

The video “shows our goofy, fun-loving side,” the trio says. “It is somewhat of the antithesis of our last EP, ‘Look Around.’ We’ve previously released songs that focus on heartbreak and loss. Alternatively, this song was born out of a genuinely fun night drinking and laughing at our favorite bar. With the song and video, we aim to highlight the importance of savoring the simple joys in life, because they so often go unnoticed.”
