Kat Hamilton and Emily Hulslander met at a songwriting session in the Valley, sharing a bond over the strong female voices of the 1990s — including, as the name of their new partnership Guyville suggests, Liz Phair.

The riffy “Nothing” is their first single, straddling the line between indie-rock and Americana in a tune about shedding emotions from a fizzled relationship — how to truly cross out your exes.

Evan Blum directed the free-spirited video for the song, which was produced by Mitchell Haeuszer.
