Mystery Rose is the nom de tune of 18-year-old Zoe Rose, who has been working on her debut album with the multi-instrumentalist and producer Dan West (who, with songwriter Azalia Snail, form LoveyDove).

Her singles so far are a mix of edgy pop-rock and dreamy ballads, and the latest feels “Picture Perfect,” both in song and in the visuals courtesy of Steve Hanft (Beck, The Cure, among others).

“‘Picture Perfect’ is a song about longing for someone and trying to seek that perfect state of mental balance given the overwhelming loneliness you feel,” Rose says. “This has been such an isolating time and this song captures that uncomfortable feeling beautifully. Steve Hanft created the music video with those feelings in mind. He takes the listener on a sweeping journey. The use of nature combined with the ocean scenes help to tell the story of isolation and the surfers capture that sense of balance brilliantly.”

Rose’s album, “Socially Distant,” is out Oct. 15.
