Rumspringa

Rumspringa’s stompadelic rock was an attraction around L.A. clubs starting in 2008, peaking around 2010 with the release of their full-length, “Sway.” The trio — singer-guitarist Joey Stevens, bassist Ricardo Robles and drummer-keyboardist-vocalist Andrew Parker — went on hiatus in 2015.

They dusted off the instruments during the pandemic and emerged earlier this month with the new single “Kiyote,” an electro-rocker that quickens the pulse and implores the listener to never give up. “You’re a winner and you always knew it / The only loser is the one that flew it,” Stevens sings.

He explains further: “The song’s lyrics are about how sometimes when the house wins one too many times, you simply build yourself a new house.”

And don’t forget the four on the floor.

By the way, earlier this year, Parker unveiled the latest single from his solo project, Wiped. It’s titled “Medicine.”
