Pandemic lockdown in the U.K. brought old college mates Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers together on the Isle of Wight last year, cross-pollinating their musical whims for the first time as Wet Leg.
Following their debut single, “Chaise Longue,” which caught on like a fever both in the U.K. and the U.S. this summer, the duo today release “Wet Dream” via Domino Recording.
The song dials up the creepiness of texting ex’s and upends it into infectious pop. The video, directed by Teasedale, takes cottage core to a surreal, Alice-in-Wonderland level complete with pillow fights and a lobster party gone mad. “Wet Dream is a breakup song,” said the singer-songwriter. “It came about when one of my ex’s went through a stage of texting me after we’d broken up telling me that he ‘had a dream about me.’”
Raise a claw for this one.
