The Milk Carton Kids, Arturo Sandoval, the White Buffalo, Lee Fields & The Expessions and Y La Bamba are among the 40-plus artists performing at the first Oasis Music Festival in Palm Springs.
The five-day event, Jan. 26-30, will feature shows at some 30 venues in Palm Springs, but the main focus is the Plaza Theatre, the 86-year-old room whose restoration efforts will benefit from the fest’s proceeds.
The festival’s music curator is Liz Garo, the former VP at Spaceland Presents and now co-owner of the Palm Springs bar/venue the Alibi. “The Plaza Theatre talent reflects Palm Springs music history and highlights a wide-ranging mix of current artists,” she said.
The festival has a strong jazz component, as a series presented by the Palm Springs International Jazz Festival will feature Sandoval, Dee Dee Bridgewater & Bill Charlap and John Beasley & Monk’estra with Alicia Olatuja, among others.
