Rosa Pullman

Rosa Pullman’s songs are grounded in the familiar soil of folk music and soul — agile Americana with ample space for her keen lyrics and intimate confessionals. Over the years, her tunes have found a home on TV programs such as CW’s “Supergirl,” Fox’s “Lucifer,” CMT’s “Nashville,” USA’s “Burn Notice” and Netflix’s “Virgin River.”

Pullman released her first single for the small indie Electrosound Records last spring. “Everything is Alright, Everything’s a Dream” boasts a ’70s-style groove and was intended to start the build-up to Pullman’s first album for the label, “Polaris.”

But the album — the follow-up to 2019’s “From the Halo to the Boulevard” — was delayed until 2022.

To tide followers over, this week she released the EP “From the Storm,” which offers stripped-down versions of songs old and new. It was recorded last month in the High Desert’s Wonder Valley. Yes, during a storm.

There’s more on the way from “Polaris” in the coming months, but for now here’s some shelter from the storm.
