Over two EPs and a handful of singles that followed, Talker has turned unpacking her relationship baggage and darkest thoughts into vivid indie-rock. On her third outing, the just-announced “In Awe of Insignificance,” the singer-songwriter born Celeste Tauchar figures to take her boldest turn yet.

The New Wave-ish rocker “Don’t Want You to Love Me” is the new single, following up the teary tour of her ex’s hometown, “Summerlin”, and the cheekily titled “San Chick.” Here, the conflict between head and heart — and there is always conflict — takes on euphoric intensity in the chorus.

“When your past shows up to haunt you, you have to decide if you’re going to open the door,” Tauchar says of the tune. “And when someone comes back, you have to weigh the options and decide if you’re willing to put yourself through the ringer again for them. It’s easy to just block anything that knocks you off your course. A classic he loves me/he loves me not/will they/won’t they — but sometimes you have to silence your rational thoughts and trust your emotions. This song is me doing exactly that.”

In the clever video directed by Chanel Samson, Talker finally finds a good man … -nequin. That’s reason to party, right?

“In Awe of Insignificance” will be out March 25.
