Blossoming in the spring, Sophie Allison, better known by her stage name Soccer Mommy, has returned to the scene with “Shotgun,” the lead single off her forthcoming full-length album, “Sometimes, Forever,” out June 24.

The new album explores themes of impermanence, both in sorrow and happiness. “Shotgun” focuses on the high we sometimes feel during new intimacy. Allison says the lead single “is all about the joys of losing yourself in love … I wanted it to capture the little moments in a relationship that stick with you.”

The track echoes Allison’s 1990s rock nostalgia but has developed into something more modern at the same time. In the video, directed by Kevin Lombardo, we take a look inside the singer-songwriter’s single bedroom. There she strums along, singing of a sweetheart whom she’ll “be around” for.

Produced by Daniel Lopatin of Oneohtrix Point Never, “Sometimes, Forever” includes 11 total songs, and is out June 24 via Loma Vista.

Soccer Mommy kicked off an impressive North American tour earlier this week (no L.A. dates on the horizon), with future shows planned for all over Europe and the U.K.
