After three pandemic-interrupted years of successful oceanfront parties, the promoters behind Redondo Beach’s BeachLife Festival are introducing its country cousin.
The BeachLife Ranch County & Americana Festival debuts Sept. 16-18 with a heavyweight lineup including the Lumineers, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Brandi Carlile, Dierks Bentley and Wilco. Along with Goldenvoice’s Palomino Festival in Pasadena in July, there should be plenty of country to go around in the region this year.
Says BeachLife Ranch co-founder and producer Allen Sanford: “We’re excited to celebrate the ‘cowboy surfer’ way of life — making memories, weekend barbecuing and listening to tunes, whether on a ranch or at the beach. This festival is inspired by growing up in Southern California and spending summers in Central California trail riding on horses all day, then coming home to wash up for a sunset BBQ of Santa Maria tri-tip with all the fixins. It’s different from surf and skate beach culture, but the vibe is the same, and something we want to celebrate: love and respect for the outdoors, nature, friends and community.”
Along with the boldfaced headliners, the festival will also feature Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real and a special performance, “Songs Of Waylon Jennings,” headed up by Shooter Jennings with guests. The full lineup for BeachLife will be announced in the coming weeks, according to this week’s announcement.
The festival will also feature the special dining amenities for which BeachLife is known, with this event, of course, catering to food with a Southern flair.
Weekend passes are on sale here: Three-day GA tickets are $299; GA+ $379; and VIP $699, plus a couple of super-VIP options.
