The video for Finneas’ new single “Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa” might give you some serious summer vacation envy. The beach … Paris … sunset at the Eiffel Tower … Where do we sign up?

Except that the video collages intimate moments from a work trip — specifically FINNEAS’ adventures on the road while touring with his sister, Billie Eilish. Actress Claudia Sulewski, Finneas’ longtime partner, was along for the trip, and she co-stars and directs the video. Yes, the Mona Lisa herself makes a cameo.

The tune — a testimony of affection with an affecting chorus (“She could be the Mona Lisa / if the Mona Lisa had a prettier face”) — is more of a rocker than most of the love songs Finneas has proven so adept at penning.

There’s a story behind the artwork for the single, too.

Movie director Gus Van Sant had gifted Finneas a painting inspired by the Leonardo Da Vinci masterpiece. “The artwork is a painting by the incredible Gus Van Sant that he gave me before he even knew I had a song named after the Mona Lisa,” Finneas says. “So cool and such an honor to have this piece of art as the cover for my song.”

The song is the follow-up to the single “Naked,” released in March. Finneas has also composed the original score for the film “Vengeance,” the directorial debut of B.J. Novak, releasing July 29.
