Happy Sundays festival returns to Long Beach on Aug. 28

Happy Sundays, the free music festival held at 11 venues throughout Long Beach’s Zaferia District, returns Aug. 28 with a lineup including Tropa Magica, Nanna B., Pageants, Jagged Baptist Club, Nectarines, Carsex, UGHH, Broken Baby, Young Winona, Shamon Cassette, Julia, Julia (the new solo project of Julia Kugel of the Coathangers and Soft Palms), Taleen Kali, Date Nite and more.

Also included: a screening of the film “Queercore: How to Punk a Revolution” by Yony Leyser and plenty of visuals and DJ sets.

The full lineup, participating venues and set times have yet to be announced. The festival has been held every year since 2017, except 2020. There are two lead-in shows scheduled for July 24 and 31 at Alex’s Bar and the Bamboo Cub, respectively.
