More than 50 artists have contributed songs to a limited-release compilation album benefiting abortion rights and reproductive care organizations.
“Good Music to Ensure Safe Abortion Access to All,” which spans 49 tracks, is available today only on Bandcamp. It spans 49 previously unreleased tracks, including new songs, covers, remixes, live versions and unreleased demos. In addition, a T-shirt bearing the album art (the work of Kim Gordon) is also available.
The compilation benefits the Brigid Alliance (a service that provides travel, food, lodging, child care and logistical support for people seeking abortions), Noise for Now (an initiative that connects artists to organizations that support reproductive justice) and the Abortion Care Network.
The album has a formidable list of contributors, including Amanda Shires x Jason Isbell, Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros, Cat Power, Daniel Rossen, David Byrne x Devo, Death Cab for Cutie, Fleet Foxes, Gia Margaret, Grouplove, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Mac DeMarco, Maya Hawke, Overcoats, Pearl Jam, PUP, the Regrettes, R.E.M., Sleater-Kinney, Soccer Mommy, Tegan and Sara, Thao & the Get Down Stay Down x Tune-Yards, Ty Segall and Wet Leg.
Here’s the first track, an unreleased Wet Leg demo — see Bandcamp for the full tracklisting …
